Denis Yakovlev

Denis Yakovlev was born in Krasnodar, Russia, in 1984.

In 2001 he entered the Advertising Faculty of the Krasnodar University of Culture and Arts. By 2004, photography had become his primary focus, and after graduating he began working as a photographer.

His work has been exhibited in Russia and presented internationally through photography festivals and publications.

In 2018, Yakovlev was a recipient of the Innovation State Prize in Contemporary Art in the Regional Project category for Superoblozhka (Super-Jacket), a project dedicated to photobooks and developed with Elena Ishchenko and Typographia Center for Contemporary Art.

In 2023, he participated in the group exhibition Dialogue of Cultures at the State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.

His work was also presented during the PhotoVisa Festival in Krasnodar, where it was reviewed by LensCulture director Jim Casper and subsequently published by LensCulture.
