Felix D'Eon
Felix D’Eon is a contemporary artist known for seamlessly weaving history and queer identity in his art. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and based in Mexico City, D’Eon’s work transcends boundaries. Drawing inspiration from different historical periods, he creates illustrations that appear as though they’ve been plucked straight out of another era. Yet, they subtly and beautifully incorporate LGBTQ+ themes, celebrating queer love and identity.
Utilizing a style reminiscent of classical, pre-20th-century art, D’Eon challenges societal norms and presents queerness in a universal and timeless light. His works serve as both a nod to the past and a statement about the continuous and inherent existence of queer relationships throughout history.
D’Eon’s artistry resonates with many due to its intersection of identity, culture, and history. His pieces are not just illustrations, but declarations that queer love and identity are, and have always been, a part of the human experience.
